Help Desk
1) For more information about your computer, click the Documentation
and Support icon on the computer desktop screen.
2) Within an application, click the Help icon for help with the application.
3) If the computer will not boot up:
a) Make sure the power cables are correctly plugged into the monitor, computer
and outlet.
b) Press and hold the power-on button for 20 seconds, then release.
c) If the computer still does not power up, call Help Desk.
4) If you can not access the Internet:
a) Make sure the network cables are correctly plugged into the Comcast router,
computer and wall outlet.
b) Turn off the power on both the Comcast router and computer. Wait 2 minutes.
Power the Comcast router back on. Wait until all lights have stopped flashing
and remain lit. Power on the computer
c) If the Comcast router lights continue to flash or you are still not able
to connect to the Internet, call Help Desk
5) If you experience error message pop-ups, please write down the message
as well as what you were doing at the time. Search the FAQs section of
the Help web site or call Help Desk
6) If there is ever a spark or smell similar to smoke, turn off the
computer at once, unplug from the electrical outlet and call Help Desk.
Do not power the computer back on unless instructed to do so by the Help
Desk.
